Mr Herman Klaber
Herman Klaber was married in 1907 to Gertrude Ginsberg, a native of Sacramento, California. The Klabers had one child, a daughter, Bernice, who was born on 8 February 1910 in Portland, Oregon.
Klaber, a native of San Francisco resident in Portland, had been on a three month business tour of Europe for his firm of hop merchants Klaber, Wolf & Netter, he boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a first class passenger (ticket number 113028, £26 11s). He occupied cabin C-124 together with Austen Partner.
Mr Klaber died in the sinking, his body, if recovered, was never identified.
After Klaber's death on the Titanic, Gertrude took Bernice and went back to Sacramento to live with her parents. Gertrude never remarried after her husband's death on the Titanic. She died on 17 March 1961.
Bernice Klaber married Samuel Jacobs of Sacramento. The couple resided in San Francisco where Bernice died on 23 February 1962, aged 52. Samuel Jacobs died on 1 May 1997 in San Francisco.
