Mrs Johanna Persdotter Ahlin (née Larsson)
Mrs Johan Ahlin (Johanna Persdotter Larsson), 40, was born 21 June 1871 the daughter of farmer Per Larsson and Anna Stina Larsdotter from Västermo, Närlunda, Stora Sundby, Södermanland, Sweden. Johanna's postal address was Box 311 Akeley in the State of Minnesota where she lived with her husband Johan Ahlin and two sons.
Johanna Ahlin had visited her parents on their farm in Närlunda. For some years she had been living in Minnesota with her family. She had had three daughters who all had died in at young age. She boarded the Titanic at Southampton with her brother Johan Petterson as third class passengers. Both were lost in the sinking. Their bodies were never found.
The Mansion House Fund paid 875.52 Kr (£48) to husband and sons. 455.25 Kr in damages was paid to her husband 4 June 1914.
When the consulate in New York tried to contact Johan Ahlin 10 March 1919 the letter was returned with. 'Moved new address unknown.'
