Miss Maria Kink
Miss Maria Kink, 22, an unmarried maid, was born in 1889 at Mahrensdorf, Austria. After the death of her parents (father 1889, mother 1911) she went together with her brother Vinzenz to their brother Anton at Zürich, Switzerland. They all wanted to emigrate to America. She boarded the Titanic as a third class passenger together with her relatives at Southampton.
To reach her destination Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she bought her third class ticket from the agent: Kaiser & Cie., Basel, for 340 Swiss francs (ticket number 315152, price: £8 13s 3d). She and her sister-in-law together with their niece occupied a cabin towards the stern. It was for 6 persons, three other unknown women were also in that cabin.
Maria Kink died in the sinking. Her body if recovered, was never identified.
Her brother Anton Kink was given her certificate of death in July 1912. Anton was her only relative left, so he received compensation of sFr 262.50.
