Mr Olof Edvin Vendel, 29, was born 1 May 1891 the son of bricklayer Per Oscar Wendel and Karna Jönsdotter. He was from Östra Sallerup, Skåne, Sweden and he had five siblings. His profession is not known.
Vendel was on his way from Östra Sallerup to relatives in St. Paul, Minnesota. He travelled with August Nilsson, also from Östra Salerup, they went via Copenhagen, it is likely that they bought their tickets there. They boarded the Titanic at Southampton as third class passengers.Both men died in the sinking, their bodies were never found.
The Mansion House Fund paid 418.83 Kr (£25) to parents 23 January 1913. 1366.50 Kr (£75) damage claims were paid to his parents 17 December 1914 plus an additional sum of 350.70 (total sum 1717.20).
