Mr Paul Achille Maurice Germain Maugé was born in Paris on the 22nd March, 1887 the illegitimate son of Félicité Marie LeFloch and Athanase Maugé 1.

In 1912 his home was "Les Glycines", 80 Rue de la Chapelle, Oregeval, France 2. When he signed-on to the Titanic, on 6th April 1912, he gave his address as c/o Gatti, London. His actual address at the time was 53 Meal Street W.C. London. The Titanic was his first ship.

Maugé would later testify that on the night of the sinking he and the Chef: P. Rousseau made it up to the boat deck, when Maugé jumped six to eight feet into a lowering lifeboat (probably lifeboat 13) he pleaded to Rousseau to jump as well, but Rousseau couldn't because "He was too fat."

Maugé stated at the British Inquiry that the staff of the à la carte restaurant were prevented from going on deck by stewards.

After the Titanic disaster Paul Maugé married twice. First, on 22 March 1927, to Paris born Suzanne Florentine Rambault. Second to Madeline Sirois, the couple moved to Montréal, Canada where Paul Maugé died on 16th January, 1971. He is buried in Notre dame des Neiges Cemetery, Plot V5123.

Notes
1 Félicité was first married to Laurent Gustave Garnier with whom she had two children: Mathilde Julie Laurence Garnier and Auguste Frédérique Garnier. She died on 12th February, 1929. The Notary responsible of Mme LeFloch's last will (singed on 17th May, 1892 by Maitres Decoulart-Delafontaine) was Maitre Marcel Binet. Mme Binet's office was based at Poissy.
Mathilde Julie Laurence Garnier married Mr Emile Malardier, living at that time in the town of La Ville du Bois, (Seine-et-Oise), Grande Rue n° 49.
Auguste Frédérique Garnier married Juliette Rollot, who lived in Villemonble (Seine) 92 rue de Neuilly.
2. His house still stands and still bears the name "Les Glycines".
