Mr Peter Sloan
Also of Ferndale Road, Sefton Park, Liverpool, previously of Newcastle Road, Warrington, Lancashire. Transferred from ''Laurentic'' to ''Olympic'' and then to ''Titanic'' . Married 1908.
Thirty-one years of age. He was born in Liverpool and received his education at the Liverpool Institute and was a member of the Valkyrie Football Club. He served his apprenticeship with Messrs. C. S. Wilson & Co., of Regent Road, Bootle, and joined the White Star Line two weeks after the completion of his time with Messrs. Wilson. he was employed in a number of the White Star boats both in the Western and Mediterranean trades. During the latter employment he won the half-mile championship for swimming at Spezia - Italy v. England - and the gold medal and silver cup. He was on the Baltic at the time of the collision with the Republic, and volunteered for rescue work for which he received a silver medal. He was next promoted chief electrician of the Laurentic and then to the Olympic , being on that vessel at the time of the collision with the cruiser Hawke . he leaves a widow (Annie) but no children.
