Mr Sidney John Barton

 

Mr Sidney John Barton, 25, was born in Hampshire. He lived at 85 College Street, St. Marys, Southampton

He signed-on to the Titanic, on 4 April 1912, his last ship having been the Olympic. As a third class steward he received monthly wages of £3 15s.

Barton died in the sinking. His body, if recovered, was never identified.

Barton is mentioned on a gravestone in the Old Cemetery, Southampton Common, Southampton.

To the Everlasting Memory of Sidney John Barton who lost his life on the SS Titanic, April 15 1912 aged 26 years.
