Miss Victorine Chaudanson

Miss Victorine Chaudanson was born at Melas LeTeil, Ardeche, France on September 28, 1875 the daughter of Andre Chaudanson and Rose Ciellier.

Miss Chaudanson worked as maid to Mrs Emily Ryerson. She boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg.

After the collision Victorine had gone back to the Ryersons cabin to retrieve valuables.  As she was starting her search she was horrified to hear the door lock turning shut.  A steward was securing the rooms.  Her screams alerted him and he let her out.  Later, Mr Ryerson gave Victorine his lifebelt when he saw she had none.  She was rescued in lifeboat 4.

Victorine was later married to Henry Perkins and lived in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. She died in August 1962 at the age of 86.
