Mr Vinzenz Kink, 26, an unmarried storekeeper, was born on 25 July 1885 at Mahrensdorf, Austria. His father Vinzenz Kink-Hofer shortly died after the birth of his sister Maria in 1889. In May 1911 their mother died too. So Vinzenz and his sister Maria moved to their brother Anton at Zürich, Switzerland. Together with him and his family they wanted to emigrate to America.

He boarded the Titanic as a third class passenger together with his relatives at Southampton. To reach his destination Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he bought his third class ticket from the agent: Kaiser & Cie., Basel, for 340 Swiss francs (ticket number 315151, price: £8 13s 3d). He and his brother Anton had a cabin towards the bow together with Albert Wirz, Josef Arnold, Leo Zimmermann and an unknown man from Bohemia.

On April 14th he was woken by the collision. He ran out of his cabin and up four decks to the well deck. He was followed by his brother Anton. They clearly saw the iceberg. They all went down, dressed, packed and put their life-preservers on when water began pouring into their cabin. Then they left. On their way up, Vinzenz Kink was lost in the crowd.

Vinzenz Kink died in the sinking. His body if recovered, was never identified.

As he left no living relatives except Anton Kink, he received a compensation of sFr 262.50. From Lord Mayor's Fund Anton also received £30.
