Chief Engineer`s Clerk (Writer): William Luke Duffy was born at Castlebar, Ireland on 8th October, 1875 he received his education at St. Jarlath`s College, Tuam, Ireland. Upon completion of his schooling he spent two years as a clerk in Shackleton`s Flour Milling Co., Dublin before joining James Walker & Co. of Dublin. The Titanic was his first ship. He left a widow and one young child.
