Notes on the Passenger Lists
The Encyclopedia Titanica passenger list was inspired by the passenger lists
which originally appeared in newspapers following the sinking and by that published
by Walter Lord in his book A Night to Remember. At the time of publication these
lists were the most accurate available but in fact they contained numerous errors d rules
and omissions.
The current Encyclopedia Titanica passenger list has attempted to draw together
the best possible information from various available lists and contains countless
additions and corrections. The lists have been updated with contributions from
the descendants of passengers as well as Titanic historians and enthusiasts
and with reference to original documents.
Readers are reminded that while these lists may be printed for private use
they are not to be published (including printed matter or websites), reproduced
in any shape or form, broadcast or sold.
