Mr J. Barnes

J. ¹Barnes was born in Hampshire. He had been working as a fireman on the Oceanic when, on 10th April 1912 he signed-on to the Titanic.

He gave his age as 29² his address was Woodley Road, Woolston.

J. Barnes died in the sinking, his body was not recovered.

The Titanic Relief Fund paid out compensation for a number of years.

Notes
1. Stringer lists as Frederick Barnes.
2. In the 1911 Census he is listed as John Barnes age 40, a General Labourer, living with his wife of twenty years Amelia and their four children: Thomas (17), Alice (12), Rose (9) and William (8).
