In Memory of the Titanic Catastrophe

Grand Memorial Fantasie

Proud as a queen the great ship lies at anchor,
ready to sail mighty ocean wide,
riches and splendor have there congregated,
All the wide world watches this ocean palace glide.
But Lo! There is a power above that guides
the destiny of this frail world of ours, this frail world.
When our life is sweetest,
when our hearts with joy abounds,
Then there comes a voive from heaven,
deeply in our soul rebounds.
Tho' you may boast of all this glory as you sail majestically
but who knows at what moment you may face Eternity
Gayly we glide on the waves of the ocean,
headed full speed to the land of the free,
Never a thought that the hour of destruction,
was close at hand cruel fate can it be?
One last embrace to the loved ones we're leaving,
One word to God,
then our souls to Eternity.
Nearer my God to Thee,
Nearer to Thee
E'en tho' it be a cross That raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be
Nearer my God to Thee
Nearer my God to Thee
Nearer to Thee
