New York, May 3 – Mrs J Stuart White of Briarcliffe, N.Y., a survivor of the Titanic disaster yesterday testified before Senator William Alden Smith, chairman of the United States Senator investigation committee, that the sailors of the ill-fated liner were untrained and did not know their business.
Three who were rowing the lifeboat in which she and twenty-three other women escaped, she said, did not even know what the oarlocks were for.
