Touching Message from Captain's Wife

Southampton Times and Hampshire Express

Shortly before three on Thursday afternoon the following message from Mrs. E. J. Smith, the wife of the Captain of the lost liner, was posted on the notice-board at the White Star office, Canute Road, Southampton.

TO MY POOR FELLOW SUFFERERS.

My hear overflows with grief for you all, and is laden with sorrow that you are weighed down with this terrible burden that has been thrust upon us.
May God be with us and comfort us all.
Yours in deepest sympathy
(Signed) Eleanor Smith
