William Farr Penny was my great uncle. In this wedding photo of my grand parents, George Stoddart Starling to Winifred Marian Penny 7 June 1897, William can be seen in the middle standing directly behind his mother Annie Maria Penny (nee Farr).

My mother told me that William was on his way to the USA to become a doctor. He had previously been a medical steward on the "SS New York" and had worked for the White Star Line for about six years.
