Special Cable to the Examiner

London, April 21--A copy of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, illustrated by Elihu Vedder, which took two years to bind in very elaborate tooled morocco, inlaid with 1,500 gems and gold setting, and which was bought by an American at Satheby's less than a month ago, was lost on the Titanic.  The American paid $2,025 for it.
