49 YRS. AFTER TITANIC SINKS, SURVIVOR DIES

Detroit, April 17 (AP)--In the hour after midnight on April 15, 1912, death overlooked Mrs. Bertha Cooper when the luxury liner Titanic sank after striking an iceberg.

Saturday--49 years to the hour after the disaster t hat took the lives of 1,517--Mrs. Cooper died of cancer at the age of 71.

"She was talking about the sinking anniversary just a few days ago," said a son, Daniel Sinnott of Allen Park.  "She never forgot it."  Mrs. Cooper was Bertha Morgan, 23, of New York City, at the time the Titanic went down.  Relatives said she never again took a boat trip.
