NEWPORT, R. I., Aug. 13---Mr. and Mrs. John Jacob Astor gave a small family luncheon at Chetwode today. Their guests included Mr. Astor's mother, Mrs. Enzo Fiermonte, and Mr. Fiermonte; Mr. Astor's aunt, Mrs. Lorillard Spencer, and Mrs. Astor's mother, Mrs. James Lenox Banks Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Fiermonte came from abroad to see the Astor baby and will continue their stay with Mrs. Spencer throughout the week. Tomorrow will be Mr. Astor's twenty-third birthday.

The members of the Summer colony and their tennis week guests divided themselves between two major parties this evening at the Clambake Club and at Beechwood, the Astor estate on Bellevue Avenue, which is being occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Young.
At the club Mr. and Mrs. Marion Eppley gave a dinner for a party of 100, while at Beechwood Mr, and Mrs. Young entertained about 200 at a dinner and dance in honor of Miss Lucy Saunders, daughter of Dr, and Mrs. Truman Laurence Saunders, who was introduced last week.
