What cargo did the Titanic carry?
Considering the size of the Titanic the amount of cargo carried seems small.
There are some interesting and curious items in the list, including 12 cases of ostrich feathers, 16 cases of Calabashes, 79 goat skins and 76 cases of "Dragon's Blood".
There was also a 25 H.P. Renault car, seemingly cased, the property of First Class Passenger William Carter.

Is it true that there were black people on board and they were listed as cargo and were not on any passenger lists, so were no counted in with the people who died.
"Dragon's blood" is another (old) name for tragacanth - a gum resin used in medicine and cooking.
I was told at an entomology meeting that there was an extensive insect collection ( 78,000 specimens ? ) supposedly shipped on the Titanic destined to Dr, Mengel of Reading PA. There's nothing on the cargo manifest. There are other stories like this, derived from old newspaper reports. The jewelled copy of the Rubaiyat is a case in point.
