RHINEBECK May 3---The funeral service of Col. John Jacob Astor will be held to-morrow at noon in the Episcopal Church of the Messiah, of which he was Warden for sixteen years. A special train from New York bearing friends and relatives is due to reach Rhinecliff Station at 11:20 o'clock. Automobiles will be in waiting to convey the passengers to the church.

The body of Col. Astor will be brought to the church from Ferncliff, the Astor estate, escorted by Vincent Astor, Mrs. Astor, and her immediate family. Dr. Ernest C, Saunders, rector of the church, will be assisted in the service by Dr. William T. Manning of Trinity Church. The choir of Trinity Chapel, with their organist, will have charge of the music.

It has been announced definitely that Mrs. Ava Willing Astor, Col. Astor's first wife, will not attend the funeral, but her daughter, Ava Muriel, will be present. There will be eight honorary pall bearers. The Vestry of the church will be represented by Dr. James F. Goodell and Dr. George N. Miller. Reservations have been made in the church for the Astor employes, and seats to the number of 120 will be held for the party from New York and those already here. The church will be dressed with palms and flowers. One of the floral offerings will be a wreath from the Vestry of the church.

Dr. Saunders will not accompany the body to New York, and Dr. Manning will conduct the services at the grave in Trinity Cemetery, 152d Street and Amsterdam Avenue, New York.
