The letter was written in 1970 to Kezia Norah Mathews (1901-1984) a daughter of Mary Roberts. t is not known if the two did finally meet up as suggested by Miss Russell. The letter reads in part:

Dear Mrs, Mathews,
Your lovely mother was my room stewardess, She was in lifeboat No.11. S0 was I. The boy she saved was named Aks, He lives now somewhere in the South, I forget where, He certainly is not wealthy, nor was his mother wealthy. I never did find out whether he had a father. I met him only briefly, in 1951, at a reunion of
Titanic survivors.
