    Keeping delicate plants seem to me a logistical nightmare, which makes me very curious about how it was done onboard ship.     Flowers on tables

    Here is a question for keen gardeners. Lucile describes daffodils decorating her table at dinner. Is there any way of working out what variety they were. I know nothing about Daffodils, other than that they are yellow, and Wordsworth wrote about them!!!

    I know that the gentlemen were presented with a boutonniere every evening, but did the ladies get corsages? And who arranged the flowers, was it the stewards for the public rooms and the cabin stewards for the passenger rooms? Or was there a florist aboard?

    Flowers or no flowers

    Hi, Were there any flowers decorated on the tables of the first-class dining saloon? There must have been something there to dress up the tables, since there were no table lamps. Regards Nigel
