Hey all,
i don't know if anyone has noticed, but 2 of the lost stewardesses were called Katherine Jane Wallis - one a first-class stewardess, the other a third-class matron. Although both have the same names and both were widows, one is recorded as having been born in Ireland and the other in Hampshire, England. Surely there is some error here and both names belong to the same woman?! The chances of the two having such similarities must be impossible. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It's just an error on the site. Catherine Jane Wallis, a Hampshire native, was the Matron and Katherine Walsh, originally from Tipperary, Ireland, was a stewardess who appears to have worked in 2nd class.

There was another stewardess. Lucy Violet Snape (nee Lennard). She worked in 2nd class. She was widowed and left a small daughter, Margaret Snape, who lived on to be 85 years old.
