Interesting article. The only one I was familiar with was the Pandora. She was kind of the scourge of the American navy during the revolution. Later part of the mutiny on the Bounty story. Not to be a geek about it but the author either doesn't know much about cannons or chose his words poorly. I wouldn't describe a six pounder as enormous. It was actually one of the smaller cannon the royal navy had. The 30 and 40 pounder class they had would classify more as enormous than that gun. Cheers.
