A contender for Nutty announcement of the week

I don't know why they are spamming various boards. Unless they are looking for donations. Even when posted here I thought it was hard to read and even less interesting.

Probably spot on the money with that one. Baffle the unwary with enough bovine excrement, and people will pony up cash for just about anything. By the time anyone realizes they've been had, the people behind the scheme are long gone.

Either that - or they're just plain potty. I think they must be potty - I don't think they've got the timing right for a scam; they need the Jack & Rose fanatics and, surely, they must have grown up a bit in all these years?

Uh, 600 pounds per day divided into 50,000 tons (Titanic's original mass) yields 456 years, not "a few decades."

And the singular is phenomenon, goddamit! (These jerks spell as badly as some of the most prolific posters on this board.)

Now be fair, Alicia. It's already been under water for 92 years, so take that off your calcuation, and that's only 364 years. Agreed? (How do people make these estimates? A journalist here invented the "National Guesswork Authority", and it seems to me it's working overtime - globally...)

Probably by fishing last nights dinner out of the loo and using that as their information. Lots of senationalism out there, but then that's what sells. Who cares if the ship is going to take 400 years to turn into iron ore on the seabed? But if it's going to happen within a couple of decades, we just...just...just gotta do something!

(Exactly what that something we gotta do happens to be, remains ill defined.)
