So...I remember on the other forum there was a discussion about how hard it was to get hold of Lucile's (Lady Duff Gordon's) memoirs and how expensive they are if you do.
No more! As of the beginning of April you'll be able to buy them in print or as an e-book (links will go up soon) at a reasonable price. We've reissued the book with a foreword by Lucile's great-great-granddaughter Camilla Blois (who owns Lucile Lingerie - she's carrying on the family tradition!)
Lucile Lingerie - Home page - Buy Online
Go to Attica Books to see more - about the book, not the lingerie!
I am fully expecting complaints from purists by the way, who may well be annoyed that we've changed the title (didn't think the original worked quite so well these days) and that she's 'Lucile Duff Gordon'. I know her name was Lucy Duff Gordon, but Lucile is the brand, and for many reasons (such as SEO) we wanted to have Lucile in the author name.
I hope you enjoy reading about her in her own words, if you haven't yet - or perhaps re-reading if you managed to get hold of one of the old copies! I'm so glad we've been able to reissue this book as Lucile is an amazing woman whose achievements have been forgotten - she seems to have been remembered more for the wrong reasons!
