Alfred Hitchcock and Titanic

I recently came across a copy of "The Sinking of the Titanic" with a stamp showing it was part of the David O. Selznick Collection - Research Dept.
The collector I bought it from said he had bought it back in the 50's when the film studios were being dismantled and sold off.
There is a letter in the book between David Selznick and Alfred Hitchcock outlining the plans for a Titanic movie. Maybe Alfred actually handled and read this book??
Anyone have other info on this book and how it was used in the Selznick studios?
