Amalie did survive, in boat 4.

As she was Mrs Widener's maid, she probably worked like dog during the voyage. That's what maids did.

I suggest her name was probably Geiger, which is a proper German name.

I know this is years later, but the spelling is in fact Gieger. She was my father-in-law’s great aunt, sister to his grandfather.

Hallo Maria mein Name ist Karina. Ich bin zufällig auf eure Unterhaltung gestoßen. Ich suche seit langem die Verbindung zu Amalie Gieger und meinem Großvater. Sie war die Tante von ihm.
