Going too fast for conditions is always a wonderful recipe for disaster, and I think we can be grateful it was a minor scrape this time. No serious damage, no oil get out, and we can be equally grateful that crude oil is not one of the easiest things to set afire. (Though it's a real bear to put out once it get's going.)
What gives me the collywobbles is the prospect of a collision involving a tanker carrying liquified natural gas! Especially in crowded waterways such as the Straits of Malacca! There won't be enough left of either ship to scrape up into a thimble!
