The Titanic was not the only disaster to fall on April 15....

I believe President Abraham Lincoln was assasinated on April 15, 1865

Fenway Park opened in Boston the day Titanic sank- so perhaps that, and not trading Babe Ruth, is what casued the "Red Sox Curse"...

Plus our taxes (in the US) are due on April 15.

Anyone know if there were any other tragedies that fell on April 15?

Actually, Lincoln was shot on April 14th, and died on the 15th.

One good/bad event, though: The B-52 made its first flight on April 15, 1952.

April 15, 1989 - 96 men, women and children crushed to death at Hillsborough Stadium at the Liverpool FC v Nottingham Forrest football match in Sheffield. I'm sure everyone in Britain will remember it as long as they live.

One good thing, Ritchie Blackmore was born April 14, 1945. He was the great rock guitarist for Deep Purple and Rainbow.

Tarn,

Are you a East Coast Greek boy? I am a full-blooded West Coast Greek girl. Crowther is the married name. Vournas is the real name.

Well, I was born on the 13th, the day the very first rock 'n roll song was played on the radio: "Rock Around the Clock." So R&R was also born during the anniversary of the Maiden voyage. I'd have to say that was a good thing.

Apollo 13 disaster happened the week of April 11-17, 1970. Another date in American history that those who were old enough to remember, knows where we were at that very moment.
