I have just had a look at an auction site www.henry-aldridge.co.uk and it makes for fascinating reading and viewing.
I had no idea that the compassionate white star line put into print letters requesting a £20 deposit for the return of bodies if they were in a reasonable condition to be returned.
They were obviously a lot sicker than of us could possibly imagine.
