Board of Trade Muster

I have read many times about the Board of Trade muster on the Titanic at 8am on the morning of 10th April 1912,but how was this carried out? Did all the crew have to be aboard before doing so, or were the names taken as they came up the gangways?

Gary, they mustered in places handy to where they worked.

Deck crew----Under forecastle deck.
Engineroom crew----In passageway on E deck, known as Scotland Road.
Victualling crew----Somewhere on A deck.

The crew seems to have arrived over several hours. Several arrived so late that substitutes were found and signed on.
