George Symons told of how Murdoch was the officer who loaded and lowered boat 1. Now Paul Quinns
book says Lowe did. Since Symons was a lookout, wouldn't he be positive which officer lowered the
boat?

Hi Mike,

Murdoch was the officer who loaded and lowered boat number 1. He was the officer in charge of the launching the starboard side boats. Lowe was certainly there but was not in charge.
