Boat 16 during the sinking night

I suppose lifeboat 16 was lowered half-full at 1.30. However, I haven't the slight idea of it actions during the tragedy and recently I heard someone saying that boat 16 was pretty close to boat 8 and boat 6. Was this boat so far away from the ship? Can anybody assure me if this boat was launched by Chief Officer Wilde?

Regards, João

No. 16 was launched by Sixth Officer Moody. Wilde had been there earlier helping load No. 16 with women and children but he returned to boats No. 12 and No. 10 before No. 16 was lowered to the sea. No. 16 later met up with No. 6 and a stoker transferred to No. 6 to help row.
