Bob,
The windows were simply just not "cut out" of the steel yet. I know which photo you are referring to, and I dont see a reason why the windows would not have been installed after the War. The artists renderings from the time show photos in the raised roofs, so I would imagine they would have been eventually cut out and installed if Britannic would have survived the War. Several other areas in the superstructure had yet to be completed (such as the presence of windows and doorways not being cut out). Hope this clears things up a bit.

What I was describing is the way things actually appeared on HMHS Britannic, not RMS which never existed so a lot of things are speculative about how she would have looked. I agree that on RMS they would have added the upper portions of these windows.

Another Question: How many windows were there @ the smoking room?? Another thing: It seems that there was a dome @ the smoking room, but i can't find it @ brians picture:S Is here someone who knows it??
