Britannic Readings

I READ SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT BRITANNIC STACKS FALLING TO PORT WHEN THE VESSEL WAS TIPPING TO THE RIGHT.I EVEN HEARD SOME PEOPLE GOT TRAPPED BY BULKHEADS IN THE BOW,SOME EVEN WERE KILLED BY A EMERGENCY STAIRCASE BEING BLOWN AWAY BY THE EXPLOSION.ANOTHER THING THERE WAS WITNESSES WHO SAW BLACK SMOKE AND A WATER COLUMN CAME UP TO E AND D DECK AT THE TIME OF THE EXPLOSION.SO BRITANNIC IS A WAR GRAVE IT HAD PEOPLE SUFFER IN IT NO OFFENCE BUT PLEASE DO SOME INFORMATION BEFORE YOU WRITE STUFF IT HAD A MAN TRAPPED IN A ELEVATOR FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

>>NO OFFENCE BUT PLEASE DO SOME INFORMATION BEFORE YOU WRITE STUFF<<

With all due respect, you might want to follow your own advice. You could start by providing some primary source material which supports some of the assertions you made.

Oh...yes...we know she's a war grave but I have the impression you have a problem with that. If this is the case, perhaps you could share the reason for this.

If anybody is looking for more information on the Britannic try PapersPast.com type the boats name in the search box you may have to press the next button at the bottom of the page for a bit to get to some more stuff. If you can't find it come back to me.

There is a Newspaper called THE DAY which can be found in the Google News Archieve. In it there is a article called SAYS "BRITANNIC SURELY TORPEDOED"says that the explosion occurred inside the ship rent apart must mean blown apart and not blown up in the air.Three Stewards were blown to pieces that actually is really gross.Captain Bartlett was said to be in the water for a hour and a half before he was finally picked up unconscious.Does this information help very much.

The problem with this is that we know that the Britannic was not torpedoed. The chain which was used to moor the contact mine which she ran into has been located by expeditions which have been out there examining the wreck.

Be very careful when using newspapers as a source. The stories may be sensational but often have only a distant connection with reality.

I sir have in a matter of fact looked at that stuff I am Britannic's biggest fan.The website clearly says there was black smoke and a water column seen.I have done alot of research more than you so dont fight with me.There were people killed by a emergency staircase, bulkheads got jammed trapping men in the bows,A man was trapped in a elevator, three stewards were blown to pieces,Some people were killed by propellers. Now rescue ships got countermanding signals by someone I dont think they ever found out who but they did admit they got countermanding signals but the rescue ship soon found out it was a trick when Britannic sent out more signals. Two Navigating officers saw the wake of two torpedoes another officer saw two torpedoes coming towards the bows and Captain Bartlett agreed that it was a torpedo he did never say it was a mine. Now the stacks fell to port not starboard pretty wierd since the boat list was at starboard she went down with a slow and gradual movement and as she sank she imperilled other boats at the side of the ship.A while back before the sinking she met a enemy submarine threatning to sink her because of her size but decided to leave ship alone this was told by a nurse in a article I found. It was said that there was a periscope seen and a wake of a torpedo and a torpedo track some people from the island said they saw a submarine go out in the mourning.I had heard on a Expedition that people found a mine and it had some weird rope thing in it that does'nt really prove that she was the one that hit it as matter of fact that mine could of been destroyed by somebody. The Expedition people like Simon Mills never take anything seriously about her they have not looked at all of the facts which I have found.Believe me all I had to do is use my head so I decided to go to Google and go to the news archive I think maybe the Titanic Expedition team should leave her alone and move on and to focusing more on luxury shipwrecks and people who like to study Warships,Battleships,U-boats and maybe WW2 buffs should step in and bring out Britannic inner Action,Crazy,War,Less luxury style life It's Britannic not Gigantic.I think Britannic is actually better then Titannic and Im not talking about the luxury and size.So Titanic Expedition people please just leave her alone she was not hit by a mine It was a torpedo.

Wow! A good summary of untrue facts I have ever read in one text!

And how on earth could a funnel fell to port when the ship was having a starboard list? The wreck show exactly that, they fell to starboard!

The deaths are true the torpedo sightings are true the Britannic the nurse story about how the britannic was threatned by the submarine is true.Oh and the Titanic Teams and buffs should keep away from Britannic because Britannic has only been thought to be in the shadow of Titanic but really she Is a different ship with a different story like the movie The Enemy Below,Tora!Tora!Tora,Midway,Frogmen,Sink the Bismark,Morituri, and Das Boot. You know U-boats explosions and stuff and my opinion is she was Torpedoed more than once even.So Titanic stop pestering your sister she does'nt have to be like you in anyway.

They fell to port and hit the deck and rolled to starboard they didnt fall In the water when they fell to port.I am guessing the water was very deep that day which Is probably why the boat went down perpendicular. As you can see I go by what the survivors say to stay on the safe side after all they watched it all happan and I was born on November 20,1992 and I believe britannic sank on November 21,1916.

>>The website clearly says there was black smoke and a water column seen.<<

Actually, it points to the opposite. To quote from the site:
The inquiry states that:"..there is no evidence of a column of water having been thrown up outside the ship...".This is a significant argument. In fact, this is a characteristic evidence of a torpedo hit.
Since that came from the official inquiry, a body which represented a government which would have a vested interest in proving the opposite...that's quite an indictment.

As to the stacks, they didn't fall to port and with a starboard list, there's no way they could.

>>They fell to port and hit the deck and rolled to starboard they didn't fall In the water when they fell to port.<<

No chance! This could not have happen! And did not happen! Do not always believe what was written in newspapers!
The wreck clearly shows that they fall to starboard!

If you think you knew everything, then please give me the name of the nurse & the name of the three stewards who were blown up. Which was the elevator were a man was trapped and more important which U-Boats did torpedo her.
