Britannic's compartments

A six-compartment ship? Wow, modern cruise ships should have it so good. And yet one wily little mine manages to take her down for the count. Tragic...she could have had a nice civilian life.

It might have helped the Britannic's survival enormously if they hadn't had the watertight doors open belowdecks to make changing the watch a bit easier. It would also have been helpful had all the portlights on E-Deck been closed and dogged shut the way they were supposed to be in waters known to be mined and where hostile submarines were operating.

In my opinion, the Britannic's watertight protection would have been more then adaquate for the job had it been set properly.

It wasn't.

This is my point Michael. Look at this form and you will have why I was saying that if Titanic had the refit Olympic and Britannic had she would have been able to stay afloat.
