Hi
I am researching the SS Themistocles which my mothers' family (HOGAN) sailed on when emigrating to Australia in 1927. (dep Liverpool, UK 1927 - date unknown via Cape Town, Albany WA, Melbourne VIC, and Sydney NSW) arrived 19/09/1927.
I have photographs of my mothers' family which were taken during the journey (1 on board, 2 @ Cape Town).
My grandfather, Henry (Harry) was a ship's carpenter having previously sailed on a number of merchant ships (City of Dunkirk, Romeo, City of Corinth - Hall Line). I have testimonials and log books signed by the Ship Masters attesting to his character, etc.
I am willing to share this information with any interested member.

I should also add that I'm a fellow traveller and ardent reader with a morbid curiosty about accident prevention.
I can recall my first exposure to the Titanic in the early 1960s as a small child in a small Australian country town (Roma Qld) watching this enthralling and dramatic black and white movie of this ship that had smashed into an iceberg...hmmm the journey commences.
