In the disaster film San Andreas, a container ship riding on a tsunami wave slices the Golden Gate Bridge in half and in another disaster film titled 2012, the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy is pushed into the White House by a tsunami, crushing it.

Are big ships really powerful enough to do this?
