Captain Titanic - a social media series exploring fact vs fiction

A new series has launched exploring Titanic fact vs fiction on social media.

The first three episodes cover common misconceptions about Robertson's 1898 "prophetic" book "Futility" ("Or The Wreck of the Titan") the exact numbers of those who perished and survived, and perhaps the most frustrating/controversial - the 'switch' theory (detailing 6 key reasons why it is impossible).

It is primarily designed for Tiktok and YouTube (with both short and long form videos), but is also on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X/Twitter and BlueSky. If you are on any of these platforms and interested in combating misinformation any ideas, help, support etc is appreciated!

Well done Dan. I love the fact that it's designed for an intended audience who appear to be prone to believing sources of misinformation carried on those platforms. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you Sam, that is very kind of you. I quite often quote from work you and Mark Chirnside have released - such as in an upcoming episode in the new year about the Titanic's centre propeller. Altogether I have about 150 episodes lined up (depending on how successful it is) and if you have any ideas for an episode do please let me know.

Happy New Year Dan, and may I have a suggestion ? How great would it be to make an episode focusing on Thomas Andrews, debunking some of the myths regarding him..... I won' t say which myths, but in general....
