Charlie Chaplin on Olympic

Just to say if you buy the new DVD on Charlie Chaplin`s "The Kid" the special features contain fotage of Mr Chaplin on the Olympic. In it we see him bidding farewell to Mary Pickford and Douglas
Fairbanks, clowning around with the crew and meeting other passengers. It also includes a quick view of Olympics port side. This DVD is available from amazon.com.

Yes it was. This is an old British newsreel and it clearly states that it is the Olympic. Also the after decks have the distinctive look we all know.
We also see a quick glance of Olympic which is clearly a White Star Line ship.Belive me or not Charlie Chaplin was on the Olympic.

White Star did not let their ships out for filming of movies per say, but Old Reliable does appear frequently in old new reels.

It is a known fact that Charlie Chaplin sailed on the Titanic, he frequently sailed on her when crossing the pond in the 1920's.

Other well known celebrities that sailed on Olympic include the Prince of Wales and Walter Lord

A slight exaggeration. Chaplin sailed on the Olympic (not the Titanic - that would have been a story!) once in 1921. He did though also take the Oceanic (in 1912), the Mauretania in 1931 and the Queen Elizabeth in 1952.

Not that I know of. I think Ken Marschall has seen the movie it was on an earlier thread - probably among Olympic's somewhere.

I remember reading that it showed passengers eating in the dining room
