The chemical tanker Ece is reported to have foundered after colliding with another vessel midway between Guernsey and Brixham.

All crew are reported safe.

She was carrying phosphoric acid (which I know as a rust remover but shipping in these quantities suggests it may have other industrial uses). It is soluble in water and should not pose a major pollution problem. It should certainly send down the pH locally!
