I understand that Mrs Christy's travel plans may have been altered when her younger daughter, Amy Jacobsohn, and her husband arranged to travel with them. The group were beginning a round the world trip, starting in Montreal, and then heading west across Canada. They intended visiting friends of Mrs Christy's son in British Columbia. When Sidney Jacobsohn died in the sinking the plans were changed. The family did go to Montreal, but I understand that they returned to England on the Megantic on May 11th.
It is still a curious fact that Mrs Christy and her older daughter Juli seem to have downgraded. According to the press at the time of Amy's marriage to Sidney Jacobsohn, he ws a man of social position and reasonable wealth.
