Has anyone seen the TV coverage of the Civil War sub that was raised?! Really fascinating! They recovered bodies and the sub in it's entirety! Amazing!!!! (they even recovered a memento from a soldier who died 7 months before the sub sank. Probably a war souvenir of one of the seamen, but still interesting)

As a Charter Member of the Hunley Society, it is a wonderful story. Read about Queenie Bennett's story of the $20 gold piece she gave to George Dixon as he entered the Civil War.

The gold piece photo is shown on the web site. If you live close to Michael Standart and I (we are South Carolinians, along with one or two others on this board) you can visit the Hunley conservatory at the Lasch Center in Charleston, SC. It is inexpensive, but quite nice to hear the story and see everything.
