Could they come back? Make Ocean liners? or for something else?

Me, personally, I think Cruise ships are ugly. Ocean Liners were beautiful, magnificent, unique, and most importantly, made with true craftmanship. Not one was the same: Titanic, Olympic, Mauritania, Aquitania, Lusitania, Oceanic, Britannic, Majestic. Even Olympic and Britannic 1 and 2 were majorly different. Cruise Ships are ugly, over used, too big, and Copy n' pasted. ocean liners had different Grand Staircases, Trim, furnishings, furniture, each class of cabins were different. These days, its just about the casinos, or the waterslides, or the bar or something.

A Cruise ship is not to make it to Point A to Point B. That's what Ocean liners were for. For people, especially like me who's afraid of Planes, this could be an excellent business. The come back of the White Star Line!

Thoughts?

Hello everyone,

Just a quick note.

White Star Line is owned by Cunard which itself is owned the Carnival Corporation. If White Star Line would ever make a comeback the Brand or have to be bought from them or Carnival might recreate the company which I very much doubt. At the moment they use the term White Star is used describe the level of service they provide. Such a legacy of good service.

I would love to see Ocean Liners/White Star Line return but practically they would probably be used as a cruise/tourist ships rather than a A-B type service.

Hope this answers your question

There is one Ocean liner in service still - Cunard's Queen Mary 2
