Current orientation of the ship's rudder

Howdy One And All. I'm creating a stern section wreck model and I'm confused as to the actual orientation of the ship's rudder. I have read somewhere that it is turned as much as 20 degrees. If so in what direction? And if you say "it's turned 20 degrees to starboard" does that mean the very aft end of the rudder is turned to the right (looking forward) or to the left? The photographs and paintings are unclear, they all seem to depict the rudder pointing straight back. Help Mr. Wizard!!!

Hi, while the rudder is straight back, isn't the bridge telemotor gear a few degrees from center? I guess that could have happened in the sinking of the bow though.

Hi, so the gear is slightly turned because the whole thing is canted? I know they said the bearings in the bridge telegraphs still worked, so that is a good point too.
