Did Captain Smith wear glasses

It is a thought about people not wearing glasses for photographs — I have seen several (even modern) photographs where people with glasses or sunglasses have had too many reflections. I suppose ‘glare less’ lenses were not available in 1912. It may well be that many people did not wear glasses for photographs which leads us to think that in those days fewer people wore them.

Still, it’s an interesting topic to look into, part of our historical background knowledge of the times. My grandfather was born in 1912 and it is fascinating to think how much the world has changed since then. I’ll keep searching for any references and look forward to other people’s results.

Best regards,

Mark.
