Dissent aboard the Carpathia

Hi all,
From Lloyd's List, 9th May 1912:
"Stokers on Carpathia are complaining of the unequal distribution of a gift of money left for the crew of the ship by one of the rescued. The stokers state that, condemning this amount "an insult", they returned it to the purser."

Who was the rescued passenger who was generous with their money? Are there any more details about this incident?

I know only that Sir Cosmo Duff Gordon gave a cheque of five pounds to each of the crew members in his lifeboat to make up for 'lost kit'.
