Dr Arpad Lengyel

In May 1912, Dr. Arpad Lenygel obviously gave one or two lectures in the distinguished adult education institution "Urania" in Vienna. His first lecture was scheduled for May 29th. Here is my translation of the announcement printed in the "Urania"-journal (I hope there are not too many flaws in my translation:

Dr. Arpad Lengyel
Ship surgeon of the Carpathia

Carpathia’s rescue operation after the sinking of the Titanic

It is generally known that the steamer Carpathia was the only ship which was informed by the ill-fated Titanic of her emergency immediately after the disastrous collision by a wireless telegram and, rushing at once to her assistance, could at least rescue the occupants of the life-boats at the scene of the disaster, thus saving them from probable doom. It was Arpad Lengyel, the Carpathia's ship surgeon, who gave first medical aid to the rescued who were mostly in a pitiable condition, and would stand by during the voyage to New York. For all who were appalled at the news of the disaster which befell the Titanic and is unparalleled in the history of seafaring (surely anyone with a feeling heart must sympathize!), it will be certainly of great interest to hear a firsthand account given by Dr. A. Lengyel himself about the terrible scenes he witnessed."
